A more conventional pop song than last submission – I mean… some of the instruments are actually being played in the correct time signature! If only I could learn to sing in key it might be a little less painful to listen to. At least it was fun to make!

What happens when the critic is away? Madness I tell you – here’s ‘Dance MotherLover’ – I guess at least someone is happy the pandemic appears to be over for the Time being…!
To Be Free
OK, here’s another song that is probably (!) not the best song in the world ever, but this was a fun song to make (I couldn’t decide if I should leave my giggles in as they’re not really part of the melody…). Coronavirus was spreading around the globe so creating this song was a nice escape. I hope YOU have some place you can call sanctuary. All that gloomy media can get you down if you’re not careful. Listening to this song will take your mind off it (there’s nothing like my singing voice to distract you from your own thoughts!).
The Wires
This collection of sounds turned into a joke, despite not being comical. Regardless, it was fun to make! I think towards the end I sound a bit like an exasperated Micky Flanagan (with his pint of milk and a cut loaf). Probably not the perfect song but rather a step along the path towards it…
297 – This is love
Can’t think of what to write about this one. Played a little arpeggio on the guitar, banged the drums and added a bit of synth. Not sure what I was singing about but it seemed to fit. Title is a bit grandiose and I’m sure it’s not everyone’s definition of love, but I quite enjoyed making it…if only it was as enjoyable to listen to! I’m starting to wonder if it’s cruel of me to post these collections of sounds on the internet. No, what am I thinking?! The internet can handle it. But can you?
290 – La Virra
This one is inspired by the film, “Arrival.” Can’t think of anything else to write – maybe that’s the problem with the track – it’s a bit boring now that I think about it. I tried to build to a climax in the middle but it’s more of a sigh of a song really. Well, here’s hoping the next one will be more more!
288 – Red into a Blue
Here’s the first track of 2018…
All I can say is it’s almost pleasant to listen to up until the end where I completely lose focus and finish with a chipmunk harmony – what was I thinking? Note to self – release the chipmunks? Could be the title of the next track? Um, no. TM
283 – Just Sayin’
Sounds like I was in a melancholy mood when I wrote this but actually the opposite was the true. Now that I listen to it – there’s a few moods in there – can you hear them all? Just sayin’
278 – The Message
My mum’s birthday today. This one’s for you!
266 – Agony Ecstasy
Here’s a little poppy tune. No autotune on the vocals so the pitch is all over the place (but in my warped view of the world this comes off as endearing…). I was trying to keep it simple – easy drumming, clean guitar licks in the background that adds rather than distracts. Even the structure of the song is simple: verse – bridge – chorus etc. I’ll need to give it a couple of listens but what I’m testing is, does simple come off as boring or homely?
